A: Frequently means more than occasionally but less than obsessively.
Q: So what is it that you do exactly?
A: PUNCH 59 performs sketch comedy: meaning we write, stage and perform all original sketches, songs, and one acts.
Q: Oh, so that means you do improv, right?
A: NO! No improv! Ever! No matter how many times we describe what we do, it always seems that we get lumped in with troupes that do the "i" word. Although we think, that when done right, improv is a wonderful theatrical experience, that there are about 34,293 groups in New York that attempt improv. We are not one of them.
Q: How many people have been in Punch 59 over the years?
A: There have been 129 people that have served Punch as a writer, director, actor, or technician.
Q: How many performances have you done?
A: As of April 2007, PUNCH 59 has staged 169 performances in both Florida and New York.
Q: That's quite impressive.
A: Yes, it is.
Q: I want to write for you. Can I send you my scripts?
A: Yes, but we will not read them. We have a core of very talented writers who provide us with more material than we could possibly ever need.
Q: I want to join the troupe. When are auditions?
A: Again, you are welcome to send your headshot and resume, but we will not look at it. We have nine full-time castmembers and a number of additional members who "guest star" with us.
